Welcome to kaufmannfrauen!
This is not just the story of a business. It is the story of a family shaped by passion, tradition and a deep love for food.

Our journey began in Gutenswil (ZH), in a lively household of six. Growing up in a big family meant shared meals, traditions and unforgettable moments. The heart of our home was the kitchen, where our mother Margot created recipes that still inspire us today.

In 2007 part of the family left Zurich and moved to Flims, a place that had always felt like a second home during our holidays. It was there that our father Rolf was able to fulfill a long-held dream. From 2007 to 2013 we ran a mountain restaurant, stepping into gastronomy as newcomers but with open hearts. The recipes of our mother Margot, especially her legendary salad dressing, became so popular that guests began asking to buy it to take home.

Since 2010 the next generation has carried this passion forward. Two of the Kaufmann children, Fabienne and Stefanie, together with Stefanie’s husband Markus as head chef, have been running Bistro Kaufmannfrauen. The bistro quickly grew into a beloved meeting point for locals and visitors of all kinds: construction workers, bankers, families with children and tourists. People came to enjoy the warm, family atmosphere and homemade food.

As demand for our products grew, even beyond the bistro and into other restaurants, we four siblings – Stefanie, Pascal, Nadine and Fabienne – together with Markus decided to take the next step and professionalize production. For us, it has always been essential to protect the quality of our products while preserving the traditions that shaped our family.
